  1. Make ready 1 cup cooked short grain or basmati rice
  2. Get 1 1/2 cup thick curd

Steps to make Curd rice:
  1. Mash lightly freshly cooked rice.Mix the curd when the rice is cooled.Heat oil and fry curry leaves.Then sprinkle asafoetida, mustard,urad and chana dal.Add this tempering to the rice and toss.Add little milk and if needed water may be added if the curd rice is very thick.Garnish with fried curry leaves and chopped coriander.Pomegranate,grapes or other fresh fruits may be mixed as added garnishing.Serve chilled.
