Steps to make Instant Brown rice Mix Lentils Masala Dosa:
For making instant batter, wash rice very well with fresh water two to three times and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Mix all the lentils and methi seeds together and wash with water two to three times and this also keep aside for 10 minutes.
For making aloo masala,peel and mashed potatoes. Now heat oil in a deep pan,.add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Lower the flame and add cumin seeds, chana dal, hing, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute till the dal turns golden.
Add onion and let it cook. Add ½ cup of water and let it cook on low flame, till the onions are cooked well. Chana dal also will become soft and oil starts separating.
Add turmeric powder and ginger. Saute for a minute and then add boiled potatoes and salt. Mix well. cook covered for 3-5 minutes on low flame. Aloo masala for dosa is ready.
Now in a mixer grinder jar, add the lentils and grind without water. When the lentils will break and form the coarse powder add water gradually to make a uniform smooth thick batter like consistency. Pour it in an another vessel.
In the same mixer jar add soaked brown rice. Grind rice without water. Gradually add little by little water and make a uniform smooth paste like batter.
Mix it in the same vessel containing lentils batter. Whisk everything well to combine and make a smooth batter like consistency. Adjust water if required. Add salt and the batter is ready to make dosa.
Heat a cast iron tawa or a non-stick tawa over the gas. Heat it. Once the tawa is heated, smear some oil over it and wipe it out with a clean tissue paper or cloth. Now pour a ladel full of batter in the center of the tawa and spread it uniformly by moving the ladle circular moving towards the edges of the tawa.
Spread one tsp of oil. Heat and cook. Now place aloo masala in the center of the dosa. When the dosa is cooked and turns crisp, remove from the tawa and serve.
Serve this dosa with chana dal coconut chutney (link shared in ingredients colomn) and piping hot sambhar.
