  1. Preheat oven to 150°C.
  2. Grease baking tray amd line with baking paper.
  3. Base & top:Cream 350g butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add in sifted flour and baking powder. Mix in vanilla and fold gemtly to combine.
  5. Cover bottom with dough. Leave some for topping.
  6. Filling: Heat 200g butter, golden syrup,sugar and vanilla until buter is melted.
  7. Kix well and pour on to base dough.Top with bits of dough (flat rounds/ovals).
  8. Bake for 1 hour. Cool and cut into squares.
  9. Serve with favourite tea or coffee.
